City of North Charleston 2024 Veterans Day Essay Winner
Congratulations to 5th grader Michael Simmons! He is the winner of North Charleston's Veterans Day Essay contest. He will be presenting his essay at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Monday, November 11th and will receive an award from the mayor at the ceremony.

I started working at Goodwin 17 years ago as a student teacher and was fortunate enough to stay on teaching 2nd grade. There is no other place I'd rather be. The parents are the absolute best, and their children are the reason I love it so much. Mary Stansell, Reading Specialist
